Monsterous Mimi was a short lived webcomic I ran Back in 2015-2016
Songs of Eternity is a fantasy comic about an elf knight and a merman prince going on an adventure to find a missing princess and explore the wonders and horrors of the world.
A staggeringly tall elf (6’5) with a rather unsuitable name. A former member of the royal guard for the central human kingdom, who in more recent times has worked as a baker. He is one of the few elves that have been seen by humanity in recent centuries. He can speak three of the main languages used in this setting, though it is said he uses an archaic dialect.
Potentially the last remaining member of the royal family of the Kingdom of the Three Waves. Slight of build and of anxious tendencies, he is an easy target for harassment. Prior to the destruction of his home, Marino was a painter and a mosaicist.
Human designs. Human society is mostly inspired by Roman/Byzantine aesthetics and worldviews with a touch of Etruscan for good measure. There are some outliers based on other cultures, though.
Sea Folk as a culture find the ideals of beauty and romantic love to be highly important. Elegant clothing, jewelry and ornate hairstyles are found even among commoners. They keep their hair uncut to represent flowing water.
The only elves seen for many lifetimes. What is known about them is mostly through the lens of mythology
Marino and his twin sister, Marina. Sea folk see twins as one soul split in two, hence the similar names. Marino is searching for his twin who disappeared 7 years earlier.
Stone Pine are tall, mushroom shaped trees that are pivotal to the distinct look of the Roman landscape from the ancient times down to today. Much of the visual and cultural inspiration for Songs of Eternity is the Roman and Byzantine empires as well as Italian Medieval and Renaissance periods
Drawing Conclusions 1 was my Inktober Zine for 2018.
Drawing Conclusions is the umbrella I use for zines that are mostly about the exploration of ideas for personal projects.
A zine made to rough out some concepts for an ongoing project. This zine is in the process of being remade alongside the project it was made for. What is shown here is only part of the book.
